A HACCP commercial bakery located in Etobicoke is looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team.

Position: Pastry Chef (approx 35-40 hours per week)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday-Friday (daytime hours) – NO WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS

Location: Etobicoke near Kipling Station

Pastry Chefs are responsible to follow the recipes and instructions to ensure good quality product is produced at all times.

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for safety of the operation of the equipment.

-Responsible for reporting any equipment malfunctions immediately to the Manager.

-Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and free of hazards.

-Responsible for maintaining small tools in a safe place such as knives, thermometers, utensils, etc.

-Responsible in operating and maintaining scales, following start-up and change over procedures.

-Follow the mixing procedures without changing or modifying.

-Responsible in inspecting the raw materials prior to use and record observation on the checklist.

-Completing records in a timely manner as well as pre-operational inspection sheet and reporting and discrepancies

-Ensures the proper cleaning of equipment.

-Work closely with other bakers on the line.

-Practicing and adhering to Food Safety, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Health and Safety.

-Job duties are not limited to the above and other reasonable duties may be assigned by the Bakery Manager.

Qualifications:

-Knowledge of mixing formulas pertaining to baked goods.

-Knowledge in Equipment Safety (Mixer, Depositor, Scale, Oven etc.) and practices

-Knowledge of thermometers and their care.

-Ability to multi-task by handling various production demands.

-Ability to follow standard operating procedures for Health and Safety & GMP.

-Ability to prioritize especially with frequent changes.

-Lifting ability up to 50 pounds

-High school diploma or GED required.

-Must be able to communicate in Basic English, both verbal and written.

-Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift.

-Ability to work holidays and weekends if needed.

-Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.

-One year work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.

A commercial bakery located in Etobicoke is looking for a Dishwasher to join our team.

Position: Dishwasher

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday-Friday (9:00AM – EOD, approx. 8 hrs per day) | 35-40 hours per week

Location: Etobicoke near Kipling Station

Dishwashers are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing, processing and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities:

-Clean bakery equipment, utensils, pots, pans, floors, walls etc. using specific procedures as directed. Follow specific instructions to clean equipment;

-Perform all responsibilities following established GMP, Food Safety, and Health & Safety policies and procedures;

-Keep accurate records of cleaning performed;

-Inspect areas requiring attention;

-Keep manager informed of any unsanitary practices that may be occurring in the plant;

-Follow all sanitation procedures as laid out in the SOP;

-Job duties are not limited to the above and other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED required.

-Must be able to communicate in Basic English, both verbal and written.

-Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc.

-Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift and able to climb ladders.

-Ability to work with strong chemicals

-Ability to work holidays and weekends if needed.

-Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.

-One year work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.
